Maintenance and Repair of Capacitor Damage in Medium-Frequency Induction Furnaces

With the increasing emphasis and attention paid to environmental protection by national policies in recent years, many industries that use black energy (coal) to heat metals have been phased out. Therefore, metal induction heating (electrical heating) has inevitably gained favor among business owners. Recently, many friends have encountered more or less problems with their medium-frequency induction furnaces simultaneously, so I intend to share the maintenance experience accumulated over the years.

When it comes to maintenance experience, more than half of it can actually be avoided and is predictable. Today, my topic focuses on analyzing the phenomena, making judgments, and identifying the root causes of problems after the damage of medium-frequency resonant capacitors. Now, I would like to share such a process with you, sincerely hoping to provide some help, enabling you to foresee issues and reduce losses in future work.

Due to their high power, capacitors must be cooled by water. Since the capacitor is connected in parallel with the induction coil and the feedback transformer, before measuring whether it is broken down, the circuits at both ends must be disconnected for measurement. If it conducts, it indicates that the capacitor is broken down.
