How to determine The electromagnetic induction heating aluminum shell heating uniformity

1.Temperature sensor monitoring method

Multi-point measurement: Multiple temperature sensors are installed at different locations of the aluminum shell, which should include critical areas such as the center of the surface, edges, corners, and different heights of the D (if the aluminum shell is a three-dimensional shape). The temperature data of each part of the aluminum shell is obtained in real time through these sensors. For example, for a rectangular shaped aluminum shell, temperature sensors can be installed on the top surface, bottom surface, the center of the four sides, and near each edge.

Comparative data analysis:During the heating process, observe the temperature changes recorded by each sensor. If the difference between the temperatures measured by the sensors is within the permissible range when the set heating time D or target temperature is reached, the heating uniformity can usually be considered to be up to standard. For example, in some industrial applications, if the temperature difference between points is within +5°C°C, it can be determined that the heating is more uniform. In addition, you can also analyze the temperature change curve, if the rate of temperature rise at each point is basically the same, is also an important indicator of uniformity of heating.

2. Thermal Imaging Camera Detection Method

Visualization of the overall temperature distribution: Using a thermal imager to take pictures of the aluminum shell that is being heated, the thermal imager can display the temperature distribution on the surface of the aluminum shell in the form of a color image. Different colors represent different temperature ranges. By observing the thermal imaging image, you can visualize the temperature uniformity of the aluminum shell surface. For example, the more uniform the color distribution, the more uniform the temperature distribution; if there are obvious color differences in the area, it may indicate that the area is unevenly heated.

Dynamic Monitoring:Multiple thermal imaging shots are taken during the heating process to observe dynamic changes in temperature distribution. Ideally, the temperature distribution on the surface of the aluminum case should gradually become more uniform as the heating time increases. If an area is found to be consistently cooler or warmer throughout the heating process, it is necessary to further analyze the cause and determine if there is a problem with uneven heating.

3.Physical Property Test Method

Hardness Test:Hardness test is performed on different parts of the heated aluminum shell. If the heating is uniform, the hardness change of each part of the aluminum shell should be consistent. Because the heating process will make the aluminum shell softening and other physical changes, and uneven heating may lead to some parts of the softening degree is different. For example, Rockwell hardness tester or Brinell hardness tester can be used to test the surface of the aluminum shell at several points, and compare the differences in hardness values at each point.

Dimensional Change Measurement: For some aluminum housings that require high dimensional accuracy, measure the dimensional change after heating. If the heating is uniform, the dimensional change of the aluminum shell should be uniform in all directions. For example, for a round aluminum shell, the change in diameter before and after heating can be measured. If the difference in diameter change in different directions is too large, it may indicate that the heating is not uniform.

4. Simulation experiment and numerical calculation method

Establishment of physical model:According to the actual shape, size, material properties of the aluminum shell and the parameters of electromagnetic induction heating, establish a physical model. Numerical simulation calculations are carried out using computer software to predict the temperature distribution inside the aluminum shell. This method allows for a preliminary assessment of heating uniformity prior to heating experiments.

Experimental verification and calibration:The results of the simulation calculations are compared and verified with the temperature measurements obtained in the actual heating experiments. If the two match well, the simulation model is accurate and can be used to further optimize the heating parameters to improve the heating uniformity; if there are large differences, the model needs to be calibrated and corrected to re-evaluate the heating uniformity.
