Application of electromagnetic induction penetration heating

In recent years, various application trends require different heating methods, so induction heating can be divided into four main types: The first type is forging penetration heating. Regarding electromagnetic induction penetration heating, let's talk about its application in detail today.
Induction heating is a simple method for heating an entire batch of metal to a specified temperature. It can replace furnace heating that is bulky and less efficient and takes longer to start up and shut down. In comparison, induction heating units offer the advantages of small size, quick start-up, cleanliness and high efficiency. The energy of the induction heating furnace can directly enter the workpiece, and the heating time can often be as short as a few minutes (except when heating large objects), and this heating process is very suitable for automated production methods. Although the cost of electricity is higher per unit of energy, this is compensated for by high heating efficiency.

Induction heating occurs at a certain surface depth (2 mm for steel heated from room temperature at a frequency of 50 Hz; 10 mm for copper). The heat of the heating needs to reach the rest of the bar or slab through thermal conduction. Non-ferrous metals have high thermal conductivity, and there is not much problem in heat transfer to other parts. However, for steel and other metals with low thermal conductivity, we must avoid overheating or even melting of the surface. Heat flow is an important content to be studied in penetrating heating.

Since we are not trying to limit the heating layer to the surface (eg for quenching), lower frequency heating can be used. In this way, power frequency (50/60 Hz) induction heating that does not change frequency is obviously worthy of attention, and medium frequency induction heating (1~10 kHz) also has a wide range of uses. Penetration heating can be used for forging, forming, annealing and induction melting. It can also be used for extrusion heating of aluminum and other non-ferrous metal houses. The power of these heating applications is powerful. Since the production rate of the furnace is as high as several tons per hour, the power supply must be quite large (although hundreds of thousands of kilowatts are not uncommon and most commonly used are several hundred kilowatts).
