Why Use Bearing Induction Heaters?

Aug 09, 2024 Leave a message

The mounting force required to install bearings or ring workpieces increases rapidly with the increase in bearing size. Due to the requirements of installation force, larger bearings are not easy to push onto the shaft or into the bearing seat. Therefore, the bearing or bearing seat or ring workpiece needs to be heated before installation to avoid damage during installation. Induction heaters are safe and environmentally friendly, and you deserve them.

Working principle

Using the principle of electromagnetic induction, the metal generates eddy currents in an alternating magnetic field to generate heat, which is usually used in metal heat treatment and other fields. The principle is that when thicker metals are exposed to an alternating magnetic field,an electric current is generated due to electromagnetic induction. After thicker metals generate current, the current will form a spiral flow path inside the metal, so that the heat generated by the current flow is absorbed by the metal itself, which will cause the metal to quickly heat up. Thermal expansion is generated from the inside and outside, thus meeting the needs of interference assembly.

The main reasons for using bearing heaters are as follows:
1.Improved work efficiency: The bearing heater can quickly heat the bearing, making it expand in a short time, so that it is more convenient to install on the shaft. This greatly reduces installation time and increases production efficiency.
2.Reduce installation difficulty: Hot bearings are easier to install than cold bearings, because hot bearings can reduce friction resistance in installation, making it easier to insert bearings into the seat hole.
3.Prevent bearing damage: When installing bearings, if the use of impact force or finger pressure and other methods, may lead to bearing damage or deformation. Using a bearing heater to heat the bearing and install it after expansion can effectively avoid such damage and ensure the stability and service life of the bearing.
4.Prolong bearing life: Bearing heaters can not only make bearings easier to install, but also drive out water and impurities inside bearings by heating, thereby improving the service life of bearings. In addition, the heated bearing can also reduce the occurrence of wear and make the equipment run more smoothly.
5.Cost reduction: Bearing heaters are safer, more energy efficient and more stable than traditional heating methods, such as furnace heating or natural gas heating. It does not require a lot of manpower input, reduces labor costs, but also reduces energy consumption and environmental damage, and brings more economic benefits to enterprises.
In summary, the use of bearing heaters can improve work efficiency, reduce installation difficulty, prevent bearing damage, extend bearing life and reduce costs, and bring many benefits to industrial production and mechanical maintenance.
